and bottom with tiny Padauk and Osage Orange segmented rings.
The barrel base and stopper are constructed of Leapardwood, cut in

different laminated layers. The call is bracketed by
segmented rings of Gabon Ebony.
This call place 3rd in the
laminated category at the 2007 National Wild Turkey Federation
annual convention in Nashville Tennessee and was purchased by

diamond is surrounded by an Osage Orange border and the six
segments of clustered diamonds are composed of a total of 30
pieces. The feature ring is supported by stave cut
segments of Leopard wood, carefully cut on the flat sawn surface
to show the radial rings distinctive of this timber.
"Clustered Diamonds" placed 4th at the 2007 NWTF annual
convention and is now owned by Greg Garritson of Defiance, Mo. |

Dozens of Diamonds
This segmented duck call placed 1st in the Laminated Division and
received the Merit Award at the 2006 Fancy Call competition
sponsored by the Callmakers and Collectors Association of America.
It is now owned by Florida collector James Bennett. |
I make Duck and Goose calls, one at
a time, sometimes in a matched set of one of each. I try to involve my
customer in the selection of woods, the design of the call, and while I tune
calls to suit my ear, I also provide instructions on how my customer can
fine tune the call to suit his ear. You won't find any "stock" game
calls in my inventory, although I sometimes have an experimental call
available for sale.
Come back to this page as I intend
to add photos of the various calls I've made for specific customers. I
won't copy a past customer's call exactly, but you'll be able to see the
kinds of things that are included in the custom calls I make.
